BATH, N.H. – A Bath man faces numerous charges after committing an assault with a deadly weapon.
Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, the New Hampshire State Police received a 911 call about an assault taking place at a home in Bath. Reports indicated that a man was actively assaulting another man with a blunt object.
While Troopers assigned to the Troop F barracks were responding, it was reported that the male who committed the assault left the home in a vehicle. Troopers later spotted the vehicle traveling south on Route 10 in Haverhill and conducted a traffic stop. After further investigation, Troopers determined the driver was the suspect who had committed the earlier assault and placed him under arrest.
The suspect, identified as Alexander Anderson, 25, of Bath, has been charged with felony first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, and domestic violence for obstructing the report of a crime/injury. Anderson was held at the Grafton County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2026, in Haverhill District Court.
The injured male was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance and was later airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries.
Part of Wild Ammonoosuc Road was temporarily closed for the investigation. Troopers were assisted at the scene by officers from Bath, Haverhill, and Sugar Hill, and by members of Woodsville Ambulance Service.
