KEENE – Attorney General John M. Formella and Keene Police Chief Steven M. Stewart announce that autopsies have been completed on the bodies of Donna Fairbanks (age 70) and her husband Chandler Fairbanks (age 72), who were discovered in their home in Keene on June 16, 2026.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted both autopsies Wednesday and determined that Donna Fairbanks’s cause of death was gunshot wounds of the head and chest, and her manner of death was homicide. The Office also determined that Chandler Fairbanks’s cause of death was a gunshot wound of the head, and his manner of death was suicide.
Based upon the information available at this time, it appears that on June 16, inside their home, Chandler Fairbanks shot and killed his wife Donna Fairbanks and then shot and killed himself.
No further information is expected to be released at this time.
At approximately 11:10 A.M. on June 16, officers of the Keene Police Department responded to a home on Hurricane Road in Keene to conduct a welfare check on the occupants and found the bodies inside the home.
