NHFPI Hosting Data-Informed Discussions on State Budget This Spring in all 10 NH Counties

Concord, N.H. — This spring, the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute (NHFPI) is hosting events in all 10 New Hampshire counties to discuss The State Budget: What You Need to Know, offering a clear, nonpartisan look at how the State Budget works and what it means for Granite Staters.

NHFPI’s statewide tour is now heading into its final stops. Join us for a data-informed discussion on how the State budget works, what it funds, and what it means for affordability, education, health care, and local property taxes in Laconia on May 20th, Portsmouth on May 27th, Newport on June 3rd, and Berlin on June 10th.

These events, which are free and open to the public, examine:

  • What the State Budget is, how it is structured, and what it funds
  • The role of education, healthcare, and other major services in the State Budget
  • How State revenue and spending decisions interact with local government services and property taxes
  • The impacts the State Budget can have on the cost of living and affordability and household costs across New Hampshire

At these events, NHFPI Research Director Phil Sletten provides data-informed analysis and answer audience questions. The events are aimed at helping residents better understand the fiscal decisions that can shape their communities.

NHFPI has already held events in Concord, Merrimack, Rochester, Keene, North Conway, and Lebanon earlier this spring. There are now only four chances left to attend one of these sessions.
