BEDFORD, NH – One person suffered serious injuries after their vehicle crashed into a toll plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike.

At 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, State Troopers assigned to the Troop B barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a 2026 Lucid Gravity that struck the Bedford Toll Plaza. 911 callers indicated the vehicle had caught fire, and someone in the vehicle appeared to be trapped.

While units were responding, a veteran State Trooper assigned to Gov. Kelly Ayotte’s security detail came upon the crash, saw that the vehicle was actively on fire, and observed the driver was still inside. The driver was then pulled from the burning car through a window and brought to safety. Gov. Ayotte, along with other witnesses at the scene, provided assistance to the Trooper.

The driver and only occupant of the Lucid, identified as Yevgeny Mirman, 51, of Massachusetts, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries. The name of the Trooper is being withheld due to the nature of their position.

“Certainly, their actions were heroic in what they did,” said Colonel Mark B. Hall. “Without hesitation, they put themselves in danger to render aid to someone who was in need of it.”

As of 5 p.m., some northbound lanes of the tolls had reopened, allowing for the normal flow of traffic, well at least one lane remained closed. Troop B was assisted by members of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, Bedford Fire Department, Litchfield Fire Rescue and Merrimack Fire Rescue.

No charges have been filed at this time; however, all aspects of the crash remain under investigation. Anyone with information that may assist the ongoing investigation is asked to contact Trooper Nathan Belanger at Nathan.R.Belanger@dos.nh.gov.
