AG Investigates ‘Suspicious’ Death in Manchester

Manchester police respond to a suspicious death in an apartment in the 1000 block of Elm St. Monday.

MANCHESTER – Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Manchester after responding Monday afternoon to a report of a man with an apparent gunshot wound, according to a news release from Attorney General John Formella.

At about 3:42 p.m., Manchester police officers were directed to an apartment in the 1000 block of Elm Street by a 911 call reporting an injured male.  Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The injured man was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The investigation is in its early stages and the circumstances surrounding the incident are under active investigation, the release said.

Anyone who may have information about the incident is asked to call the Detective Squad of the Manchester Police Department at (603) 668-8711.

At this time investigators believe that all known parties have been identified and that there is no threat to the public.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available pending the notification of next of kin and the results of an autopsy scheduled for tomorrow by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the release said.
