A former Hooksett police officer has been arrested in Waltham, Mass., after being accused of domestic violence in Manchester July 28, at about 9:35 a.m.
A woman went to the Manchester police department to report that 37-year-old Schleiden Meneide of Manchester had assaulted her and threatened her with a shotgun. Meneide agreed to resign from the Hooksett police department in 2023 in a plea agreement for unlawfully acquiring and misusing information from State Police On-Line Telecommunications System (SPOTS.)
On Monday, the woman told Manchester police that Meneide put his arm around her neck from behind and strangled her until she lost consciousness. When she regained consciousness, he threatened to kill her infant son and made additional threats toward police, according to a Manchester police news release.
The victim was able to safely leave the apartment with her child.
Based on the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Meneide and a Be on the Lookout (BOLO)
was broadcast for him and the vehicle he was known to drive. Later Monday evening, Waltham, Mass. Police located Meneide at a hotel in their city.
Negotiators established communication with him, and he was taken into custody around 9:00 p.m., the release said.
Meneide faces multiple charges out of Manchester, including Second Degree Assault, Strangulation, two counts of Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon, and Domestic Violence; Simple Assault. He also faces charges in Waltham and is currently being held there pending a hearing.
