AG: Daughter Charged with Murdering Mother in Seabrook

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Seabrook Police Department Chief Brett Walker announce further information related to the suspicious death in Seabrook, New Hampshire.

At approximately 11:18 P.M. on June 29, 2025, officers of the Seabrook Police Department responded to an apartment at the Rockingham Village Apartments in Seabrook in response to a 911 call.  Upon arrival, officers found Cheryl Stoddard (age: 45) deceased.   Ms. Stoddard appeared to have suffered from a stab wound.

On June 30, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Ms. Stoddard’s daughter, Brynn Comtois (age: 24) charging her with one count of Second-Degree Murder, contrary to RSA 630:1-b, I(b) for recklessly causing Cheryl Stoddard’s death.  Ms. Comtois has been arrested, and an arraignment is anticipated to take place pending the Court’s schedule.

The charges against Brynn Comtois are only allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of the investigation.
