HENNIKER – About 120 skiers were safely evacuated from a ski lift at the Peak Triple chairlift at Pats Peak in Henniker at about 2 p.m. Monday.
A statement from Pats Peak said a “deropement occurred on tower 8 of the Peak Triple chairlift.”
The statement said it took an hour and a half and there were no injuries.
The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Passenger Tramway Safety Board announced a joint investigation is underway after the chairlift malfunction.
The state investigation has determined the incident was caused by wind gusts and was not mechanical.
