Authorities Say Woman Arrested in 2019 ‘Death of Juvenile,’ But Don’t Identify Child Victim

Editor’s note: The state Department of Safety issued the following news release at 6:09 p.m. Friday without identifying the child or any other circumstances in the case. Patch.com reporter Tony Schinella reported that the victim was Sherry Connor’s grandson, Dennis “Boo” Vaughan Jr., 5, saying he was the only unsolved death that is known to have occurred on that day in Laconia.

BELKNAP COUNTY, N.H. – Colonel Mark Hall, Laconia Police Department Chief Matthew Canfield and Belknap County Attorney Keith Cormier announce that Sherry Connor, 61, has been indicted and arrested on multiple charges in connection with the death of a juvenile, which occurred in Laconia, on December 24, 2019.

A Belknap County grand jury returned indictments charging Connor with manslaughter for recklessly causing the death of the juvenile. Further, the grand jury returned indictments on charges of negligent homicide, six counts of first degree assault, second degree assault and four counts of witness tampering.

Connor will appear in Belknap County Superior Court on the charges at a later date.
