One Man Dead in Police-Involved Shooting in Nashua

Attorney General John M. Formella and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall announce an update on the investigation into the officer-involved shooting that occurred last night outside a home improvement store at 143 Daniel Webster Highway in Nashua, New Hampshire.

The adult male involved in last night’s officer-involved shooting has been identified as Ryan Prudhomme, age 41, of Pelham, New Hampshire. Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval conducted an autopsy on Mr. Prudhomme today. Dr. Duval determined that the cause of death was a single gunshot wound of the chest, and the manner of death was homicide. As used by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another.

The investigation by the New Hampshire Department of Justice and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit into the officer-involved shooting is ongoing.  The identity of the officers using less-lethal and deadly-force in this case will not be disclosed until formal interviews take place; this is expected to occur sometime in the next 5 – 10 days. The exact circumstances surrounding this incident remain actively under investigation.

Attorney General John M. Formella and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall announce the following update on the investigation into the officer-involved shooting that occurred last night outside a home improvement store at 143 Daniel Webster Highway in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Shortly before 8:45 p.m. on June 2, 2024, officers with the Nashua Police Department responded to the area of the Lowes home improvement store at 143 Daniel Webster Highway in Nashua following up on a report from Pelham police officers of an adult male Pelham resident who was armed earlier in the evening and was last seen leaving his residence.  The responding officers encountered this male outside the store armed with a handgun.  During the ensuing encounter, two officers ultimately discharged less-lethal munitions, and one officer discharged a firearm.  Life saving measures were attempted, but the male suffered lethal injuries and died.  An autopsy has been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. today.

No law enforcement officers have been physically injured, and there is no threat to the public.

The investigation by the New Hampshire Department of Justice and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit into the officer-involved shooting is ongoing, and the identity of the individual shot will be released after his autopsy today.  The identity of the officers using less lethal and deadly-force will not be disclosed until formal interviews take place; this is expected to occur sometime in the next 5 – 10 days. Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announces that members of the Attorney General’s Office are responding to a report of an officer-involved shooting incident that occurred tonight in south Nashua, New Hampshire.

An adult male subject was fatally wounded. No officers have been physically injured. At this time, it appears all involved parties have been identified, and there is currently no known threat to the public.

The exact circumstances surrounding this incident remain under active investigation.
