SALEM – One of the key factors in New Hampshire’s economic and demographic growth is to attract and maintain young people in the Granite State. One New Hampshire high school is making major strides in this effort.

Salem High School’s Career and Technical Education Center (CTE) will be celebrating Signing Day on May 20, 2024. Signing Day is an annual event that celebrates the senior students who have been offered career opportunities following graduation and the local businesses who have hired them.

This year’s ceremony will recognize 20 graduating students who will be securing jobs in industries including health care, automotive, education, public service and the trades.

Stacey Kallelis, Work Based Learning Coordinator, said, “Along with celebrating career connections, the students will be receiving gifts and scholarships to help start their careers. More than $20,000 of scholarships and gifts from industry partners will be awarded that evening.” She added, “We appreciate all of our industry partners and welcome a conversation with any local business who wants to create a career pathway partnership with our school.”

The ceremony will take place at the Salem High School Performing Arts Center on May 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a dessert reception.

The public and press are invited. For more information about the Work Based Learning program please, email Stacey.kallelis@sau57.org or call 603-893-4069 ext. 5341.
