CONCORD, N.H. – 21 people were arrested throughout Super Bowl weekend following a collaborative, statewide impaired driving enforcement initiative organized by the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety. Charges resulting from the arrests include DWI, reckless driving, warrants and other violations.

The effort, which was conducted from Feb. 9 to Feb. 11, aimed to intercept drivers who were suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Members of state, county and local law enforcement stopped 443 vehicles, issued 406 warnings and 39 summonses, and checked 215 child restraints.

The final results of this initiative may increase as additional participants in the enforcement campaign provide data. The effort was funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through grants issued by the NHOHS.

The NHOHS thanks all agencies and their members who participated in this effort to protect lives and take impaired drivers off the roads, as well as the residents and visitors of New Hampshire who committed to getting home safely.
