CONCORD – Just got word from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation minutes ago that our $10,000 grant application that we will use as a co-match to double your donations has been approved so that means a total of $35,500 will be used to double your donations up to $1,000 each between now and Dec. 31. Much appreciated New Hampshire Charitable Foundation!

The new New Hampshire Charitable Foundation co-match joins others from New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Geoffrey E. Clark and Martha Fuller Clark Fund and our own board of directors along with the original $13,000 from NewsMatch.

From now through Dec. 31 your new tax-deductible monthly donation will be matched 12 times or double your one-time gift, all up to $1,000. So far that tops out at $35,500 total, but I expect that will grow to at least $50,000 for purposes of doubling your money as more co-matchers come forward. (email nancywestnews@gmail.com for more information.)

Help prove me right, please. The more we raise and the faster we do it the faster we can become a truly sustainable online news outlet.

Right now is InDepthNH.org’s biggest fundraiser of the year and will really help determine our future. Our future is really in your hands.

Help us raise $100,000 this year through your generous tax-deductible donations to help build our business end and continue to report unbiased news that matters to New Hampshire without fear or favor.

And do it with the best, most honest, ethical, trusted reporters in the state – Garry Rayno, Paula Tracy, Damien Fisher, Nancy West and our newcomer Ani Freedman. And of course our fabulous columnists and podcasters Beverly Stoddart, Arnie Alpert, Susan Dromey Heeter, George Liset, Roger Wood, Michael Davidow, Monica West, Steve Dunfey, Michael Ferber and our dedicated board of directors Bob Charest, George Bald, Robin Mulcahy, Gina Gilmore, Steve Taylor, Lucy Wyman, Don Kreis and Gloria Norris.

We hope to raise $100,000 this year to work on our sustainability project and indepth news reporting and be able to hire professionals to help with fundraising, ad sales, obituaries, event planning and other ways we plan on becoming financially sustainable so we will be able to report unbiased news and hold the powerful accountable well into the future.

We’re excited to share that we have this opportunity to make your donation go even further this year with help from NewsMatch, an industry-wide movement to sustain journalism through matching gifts on the local and national level.

We hope we have proven ourselves worthy of your support over the past eight years. I know I am proud of the work everyone here does to make sure you are fully informed. We believe democracy is threatened without trusted local news. That belief and your support keeps us going.

I can’t tell you what it means to me when you send a note along with a check saying you appreciate what we do.

I will keep you posted on our progress and invite you to send us some messages we can print on why you choose InDepthNH.org as your trusted source of local news. Thanks for everything these past eight years. Sincerely, Nancy West
