CONCORD, NH — In response to Democrats’ blowout win in the Grafton County District 16 special election, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement.

“Congratulations to Representative-Elect David Fracht for his overwhelming win in the Enfield special election. The New Hampshire Democratic Party welcomes you to the State House. Fracht is an extraordinary Granite Stater and a dedicated public servant who will stop at nothing to help protect the rights and liberties of all Granite Staters.

“The momentum of House Democrats cannot be overstated. With this seat, Democrats have decisively won their seventh victory in eight special elections since 2021 and come within a hair’s breadth of taking the majority. We look forward to working with Representative-Elect Fracht for many years to come.”

“We want to thank Representative-Elect Fracht for running a fantastic campaign, and the Democratic Victory Campaign Committee and its staff, without whom this win could not be possible. We also want to thank the people of Enfield for showing up in huge numbers for their community.”

The unofficial results of the Enfield special election showed 495 votes for Democrat David Fracht, 194 votes for Republican John Keane, 1 blank vote, and 690 total votes cast. This victory represents the third special election victory in a row for Democrats and the seventh victory of eight special elections since 2021. The current elected House makeup is 199 Republicans to 197 Democrats, 2 Independents with two vacancies.
