Mass. Man Found Dead in Hampton River in NH Accidentally Drowned

HAMPTON, NH – The man whose body was found Wednesday off the Hampton jetty has been identified as Stephen Gelineau, 47, of Lowell, Mass. The cause and manner of Gelineau’s death was an accidental drowning, according to a state police news release.

On Wednesday at approximately 7:30 a.m., the Hampton Police Department received a 911 call of a possible body in the Hampton River. Hampton Fire and Police responded by boat and located the body of a male victim. The victim was dressed in fishing attire and believed to have possibly been fishing off the Hampton jetty.
