Two People Who Died in Sutton Fire Identified

SUTTON – New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, New Hampshire State Police Executive Major Matthew S. Shapiro, Sutton Fire Chief Cory Cochran and Sutton Police Chief Jonathan Korbet announce that the identification and cause and manner of deaths of the two victims who died in the fire at 13 Brown Rd. North in Sutton on July 9, 2023, have been determined.

The NH Medical Examiner’s Office identified the two victims as 65-year-old Holly Buckley of Bradford, NH and 62-year-old Randall Hnizdor of Sutton, NH.

 The cause of death of both victims was smoke inhalation and their manners of death was accidental. The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office, NH State Police and the Sutton Fire and Police Departments. State Fire Marshal Toomey would like to remind everyone of the importance of having working smoke alarms in their homes. In the event of an alarm activation or visible smoke or fire, residents should immediately exit their home and call 9-1-1. Keep exits clear and accessible at all times and have a home fire escape plan.
