2 Deceased People Found in Burned Sutton Home

SUTTON, New Hampshire – New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, New Hampshire State Police Acting Colonel Matthew Shapiro, Sutton Fire Chief Cory Cochran and Sutton Police Chief Jonathan Korbet announce that a fire occurred at 13 Brown Rd. North in Sutton on July 9, 2023, at approximately 8:30 PM. Two victims died as a result of this fire.

The Sutton Fire Department was dispatched to 13 Brown Rd. North for a reported building fire. When the fire department arrived, they found the single-family structure to be fully involved with fire. After the fire was extinguished, two deceased victims were found inside the house.


The Sutton Fire Department was assisted in extinguishing the fire by the following fire departments: New London, Wilmot, Newbury, Warner and Bradford. New London Hospital Ambulance Service provided EMS
coverage.

Positive identification of the victims and cause and manner of their deaths are pending an autopsy that will take place at the NH State Medical Examiner’s Office in Concord, NH, on July 12, 2023.


The investigation into the origin & cause of the fire, is active and ongoing by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office, NH State Police and the Sutton Fire and Police Departments.
