New Hampshire dairy farms could be at the brink of extinction, the result of consolidation of production in the Midwest. The small producers in New England and New York have lost a major contract that would allow smaller farms to stay productive. Podcast producer Roger Wood talked with Ed Maltby. He is a dairy farmer, and executive director of the Northeast organic dairy producers association. He talks about CAFOS, concentrated animal feeding operations as a major factor.

Ed Maltby, Executive Director of the Northeast Organic Dairy Producers Alliance, is a producer with over 50 years experience managing conventional and organic dairy, beef, sheep and vegetable enterprises on a variety of different farms in Europe and the United States.

Roger Wood is an award winning radio, podcast, newspaper and television journalist, with over 40 years of experience in the media.   Roger has spent his entire professional career in New Hampshire. Roger currently serves as associate publisher and podcast producer at InDepthNH.org.  He has produced news and special feature reports for InDepthNH, New Hampshire Public Radio, NPR, and other Public and commercial radio stations.  He also produced spot news for CBS Radio.
