Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of live music – from the Akwaaba Ensemble, a West African drumming group, founded by the Currier’s own Theo Martey and recently featured on NHPR’s Summer Music Series, to the Hickory Horned Devils, performing their mix of old-time, bluegrass and Americana music. Laura Boyce from popular WHEB/Rock 101 radio show Greg & The Morning Buzz will be on hand to emcee the event.
Other activities include art making, spray tattoos, caricature artists, face painting, fire performances, and a wide variety of activities that will be offered both inside and outside the museum. The event is completely free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Food and drink will be available for purchase. Enjoy delicious food from food trucks: The Lunch Lady, Let’s Roll Eggrolls Corp., Phoenix Rising Pizza, Made With Love 603, Chez Rafiki’s, Hickory Stix BBQ, Arnie’s Place Ice Cream, and Clyde’s Cupcakes, and be sure to visit the Currier’s beer and wine garden featuring local craft beer.
“We want people to come and enjoy a summer evening at the museum – both inside and out. We will have a range of art-making and educational activities, plus live music, light displays, and food and drink,” stated Alan Chong, Director of the Currier Museum. “Whether you’ve been to the Currier Museum before or are considering coming for the first time, we invite all Granite Staters to take advantage of this magnificent resource. This is an opportunity to participate in a fun, free evening, enjoy beautiful works of art, and even create pieces to bring home.”
