Rest in peace tradition of having all-male cast members at Harvard’s Hasty Pudding theatricals. From now on women attendees at the Ivy League school will be able to audition and be selected to be in the satirical gender-bending plays that often feature men dressed in drag.

What prompted the change last week? Roger Wood is joined by Elle Shaheen of Portsmouth, a member of the class of 2021. Elle is majoring at Harvard in theater, dance and media and communication. She has been active with other students pushing for the change. Elle talks with InDepthNH’s Roger Wood about her life at Harvard.
Elle’s grandmother is U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, and her mother is Stefany Shaheen, a former Portsmouth City Councilor.
