Please donate today to keep InDepthNH.org reporting real news that matters in New Hampshire. We can’t do it without you. Thanks Nancy West
Dear Friends: We are in the midst of a local news emergency in New Hampshire. Just pick up your local newspaper or watch the local newscast. Journalism in the Granite State is suffering from a lack of resources, manpower, and fresh ideas.
I created the New Hampshire Center for Public Interest Journalism two and a half years ago, with the mission to increase reporting that is expensive and time-consuming – the first stories to be left behind when there are too few reporters to do them.
We publish InDepthNH.org. Our goal is to add to the work of the state’s news outlets, reporters and editors who are still hanging on during these troubled times. We give our stories for free to other mainstream news outlets. Click here for donate button.

A decade ago, twice as many reporters were working in New Hampshire in a competitive news environment. The statehouse had a hopping press room. No more. Coverage these days consists of the few major issues that attract the widest interest, leaving all else to chance, or to the initiative of some group or person making something an issue. Many times, a press release is sent, and media outlets fall in lockstep to see who can publish it first. That is not the way good journalism works.
InDepthNH.org is attempting to help rebuild local news in New Hampshire. We need your help to do this. We need donations and volunteers.
I know you believe in local news, want to hold government accountable and give voice to marginalized people, places and ideas. That is our mission, and we hope you will join with us in making it happen.
We rely on your help, major donors, underwriters and ads to pay for our work. Most of us have been working without pay or for very little pay since we started more than two years ago. We consider what we do that important and we won’t stop. Our passionate reporters and editors need your help so we can grow and fulfill our mission.
We need to move on to the next level and hire a part-time fundraiser, an environmental/energy reporter and general assignment reporter.
We are seeking major donors and advertisers. We have broken many important news stories in our first two and a half years. We need your help to continue this work providing news coverage that matters.
Please help us to rebuild local news in New Hampshire. Donate now, whatever you can.
