Veteran City Councilman and Assistant Mayor of Portsmouth Jim Splaine is wrapping up his latest council term with an environmental victory.
The former legislator has ushered in a resolution to have toxic substances such as pesticides and weed control products banned from city property.
City officials say it could be the first municipality in the state to pass such a resolution. Roger Wood spoke with Splaine about his initiative and his future plans for public service.
