Truck driven by Tony Imondi when he was last seen in 1998 was pulled Tuesday from the Androscoggin River in Errol just a few miles south of Errol village. on Tuesday.

ERROL – Authorities believe they have located the skeletal remains of Tony Imondi, who was 26 when he was last seen on July 1, 1998, after attending a horseshoe tournament at Bill’s Seafood in Errol.

Imondi was last seen leaving Bill’s Seafood in his girlfriend’s 1996 Ford Ranger truck.  After family and friends did not hear from, or see him for several days, they contacted NH State Police Troop F to report him missing.

On Tuesday, the Ford Ranger was removed from the Androscoggin River in Errol.  The State Police Major Crimes Unit assisted with examining the truck and skeletal remains that were located inside the cab of the truck.  The Medical Examiner’s Office will examine the remains for identification.  Imondi’s family members have been notified of the discovery.

A number of searches have been conducted over the years in the Errol area.  Searches were conducted by air, on the ground ground and by the NH Fish and Game Dive Team in areas along the Androscoggin River and Lake Gloriette, located in Dixville, to no avail.

Troop F Detectives continued to search through the years in hopes of finding Imondi.  Over the past month the State Police Troop F Detectives and the NH Fish and Game Dive Team focused on an area of the Androscoggin in Errol just a few miles south of Errol village.

Fish and Game utilized divers in some areas and a side scan SONAR in other areas.  The side scan SONAR was able to detect an image on the bottom of the river.  Analysis of the image was consistent with a truck similar to the Ford Ranger.  Further inspection of the area revealed that the image was in fact the missing Ford Ranger.
