DURHAM, NH – The Durham man whose death early Saturday is considered a homicide – Alexander Talcott – was a corporate attorney and GOP activist, according to social media and a 2021 WMUR report.
Attorney General John Formella identified Talcott, 41, Sunday and said an autopsy showed he died from a stab wound to the neck in his home at 98 Bennett Road in Durham.
“The investigation into Mr. Talcott’s death is ongoing and includes whether the person who stabbed Mr. Talcott acted in self-defense,” according to a news release from Formella.
The attorney general has declined to say who it is investigating relative to the self-defense allegation, but Formella’s spokesman Mike Garrity did say no one is in police custody in connection with the case.
“The parties involved in the incident have been identified and based on the information known to investigators there is no danger to the public,” the news release said.
According to his LinkedIn page, Talcott was general counsel and director of New Constellation Capital for four years. He was also an adjunct instructor in business law and finance at UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics, according to LinkedIn.
