By NANCY WEST, founder and executive editor
To ensure people in New Hampshire have access to trustworthy news without a
paywall, please help us with our biggest fundraiser of the year that takes place in November and December and for our end of summer fundraiser, money that will be used to help pave our path toward sustainability.
I’m reaching out now because InDepthNH.org has again been selected to participate in NewsMatch, a national movement that leverages the power of matching gifts to build a groundswell of support for quality journalism in New Hampshire and around the country.
We are seeking friends in New Hampshire willing to provide co-matches for this summer and for NewsMatch, which is funded by national philanthropists like the Democracy Fund, Knight Foundation, Google News Initiative, and the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation. Our goal is to raise $50,000 from our local co-matchers this year for NewsMatch.
Because InDepthNH.org maintains its editorial integrity by not seeking funding with strings attached, we have come to rely more and more on you, our local readers.
Co-matchers pledge an amount of money, challenging others to donate as well, matching those donations up to a certain limit. It’s a way to make your philanthropy go further.
We ask that co-matchers donate $2,000, $5,000, $10,000 or $25,000. You can give more if you are able and the match funds for NewsMatch are due by Dec. 31, 2023 as long as you have agreed to make them.
The summer fundraiser co-matches are due by Aug. 31, 2023. Call 603-738-5635 for more information.
Fact-based journalism depends on community support. InDepthNH.org and its parent nonprofit corporation, the New Hampshire Center for Public Interest Journalism, are building a pool of matching funds as a catalyst to inspire others to invest in our work.
Co-matches may be made by multiple funder types, including major donors, local businesses, family foundations, or another funding source. If you can help us, please call Executive Director Nancy West at (603) 738-5635 or email her at NancyWestNews@gmail.com.
Many thanks to you for being a reader. We set out eight years ago on this experiment we call InDepthNH.org, and we were not certain where our journey would take us. Since our launch on Sept. 1, 2015, we have been constantly innovating, bringing you new content including fresh voices, statehouse reporting from veteran journalists, to breaking and investigative stories. We have always tried to bring you what matters … and also what you have told us matters.
We welcome any and all donations. Please send a check payable to New Hampshire Center for Public Interest Journalism, 38 Edgewater Drive, Barrington, NH 03825; or go to our donation page at InDepthNH.org and click here.
Thank you for being a reader. We hope to continue bringing you important New Hampshire news that matters to our readers.
