CONCORD—On Friday, the New Hampshire State House announced the creation of a lactation room located in the Health Services department to provide new mothers with the vital privacy and cleanliness they need.

Sen. Martha Fuller Clark, D-Portsmouth, released the following statement regarding the announcement: “As chair of the Advisory Council on Lactation, I am thrilled that we will now have a place for staff, elected officials and, perhaps most importantly, the general public in need of a private, clean, and sanitary area for nursing mothers to either nurse or express milk for their child. I will continue to work with the state facilities to find an equally suitable place in the Legislative Office Building so we can better serve the mothers who come to testify at our public hearings.”
