Police: One Person Shot Near Central High School in Manchester

One person suffered non-life threatening injuries in a shooting near Central High School Wednesday.

On March 9, 2022 at approximately 1:15 PM, Manchester Police responded to the area of 307 Amherst Street near Central High School for a report of gunshots heard.

Arriving officers located a male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital.  A black vehicle was seen leaving the area.

The school was immediately put in a secure campus mode. The area around the school was secured and dismissal will take place as usual.

A portion of Amherst St. remains closed from Maple St. to Beech St. as police work.
