The Excellence in Education Initiative recognizes New Hampshire public schools that
meet high standards of excellence and can serve as representatives of the many
excellent schools throughout the state.
The Elementary School of Excellence is the Gilford Elementary School and the Middle School of Excellence is Belmont Middle School. During a school assembly, students, faculty, and local education officials will be surprised by the announcement. Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston was recognized as the High School of Excellence on Tuesday, May 8th.
“McDonald’s restaurants of New Hampshire are proud to have participated in the
EDies Awards program for the last two decades,” said New Hampshire McDonald’s
owner/operator Peter Napoli.
“Each year, it’s a true pleasure to recognize educators and schools that go above and beyond to help our students learn and grow in exciting ways. McDonald’s thanks all of our New Hampshire educators for their endless dedication, hard work and enthusiasm!”
On Saturday, June 9th, all of New Hampshire’s Schools of Excellence will be honored at the twenty-fifth EDies award celebration. The EDies will be celebrating 25 years of excellence—including a Hall of Fame honoring the accomplishments of past recipients: over seventy-five schools and over five hundred individuals and educational organizations that are helping make education great in our state. In honor of our 25th year, the celebration will be bigger than ever – including additional activities and celebration.
This gala event is a collaborative effort of most of the major state-wide education
associations. It is the purpose of the New Hampshire Excellence in Education Awards
Program (EDies) to recognize New Hampshire schools and individuals who meet high
standards of excellence. The primary sponsor, McDonald’s of New Hampshire, has been
dedicated to sponsoring the EDies since they began in 1994.
