Manchester was hit with another act of apparent racism just one month after a previous incident at a Manchester coffee shop.
Police responded to the discovery of several vandalism acts, some with racist content Saturday morning. The graffiti appears to have happened overnight and was spread across a large area.
So far, police have identified 15 incidents in three areas: Candia Road, Gabrielle Street, and South Beech Street, according to a Manchester police news release.
The incidents occurred overnight and involved antisemitic, racist, and homophobic content. At this point in the investigation, the acts appear to be random, with no indication that specific individuals or properties were intentionally targeted.
“Acts of vandalism involving antisemitic, racist, and homophobic slurs are unacceptable and have no place in Manchester. This type of conduct is harmful, divisive, and deeply disrespectful to the individuals and communities targeted. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected, and we take incidents like these seriously. We are actively investigating this matter and will work to hold those responsible accountable,” said Manchester Police Chief Peter Marr.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or has surveillance footage from these areas to contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711.
