BANGOR, Maine – Former Maine Senate president Troy Jackson won the Maine Democratic Party’s nominating convention Saturday for the state’s U.S. Senate race to replace former nominee Graham Platner, who withdrew from the race amid a sexual assault allegation, which he denied.
Jackson, a fifth generation logger, won all but five of the delegate votes cast Saturday. He received 566 votes and will face Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins in November. A University of New Hampshire poll recently found Jackson and Collins were statistically tied in a November election matchup.
The following videos – Part 1 and Part 2 of the full convention – are being published because InDepthNH.org is partnering with C-SPAN’s Campaign 2026 initiative, Road to the Capitol: Candidate Coverage from the Campaign Trail.
