A video posted on Facebook shows a masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer and some men who appear to be law enforcement take a man into custody in Holderness, New Hampshire Tuesday.

The video was taken early morning Tuesday at the Irving station in Holderness. Posters on Facebook said as many as 30 people were taking into custody in the area, but that number wasn’t confirmed.

U.S. Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander, D-NH, said she is trying to get more information about what happened.

“I am closely monitoring these reports and working to get as much information as possible. Please reach out to our team if we can be of service at 603-226-1002 or at Goodlander.House.Gov.

“Everyone in the state of New Hampshire and the United States of America is entitled to due process under the law,” Goodlander said.

State Rep. Peter Lovett, a Democrat who represents Plymouth, Ashland and Holderness, said: “It shouldn’t have surprised us given their quota.

“They are scooping up people who are here legally, many people with no due process,” Lovett said. “It is very scary for one young woman and a downer in the work force.”

He said he has heard several different numbers ranging from 2 to 30 people having been taken into ICE custody in the area.

Lovett said one woman from Plymouth who was taken into custody has no local family, but he was told she has all of her documents in order and has already been taken to Manchester then on to Boston.

“This is a very hateful way to handle a very challenging immigration problem, scooping up people who are here legally without due process. I was told it was an asylum case,” Lovett said.

The woman was in a car with someone ICE was looking for when she was detained, he said. “She is dreadfully afraid.”

Plymouth Police Lt. Rod Diamond said his department was not involved. He said one of the ICE officers notified his department at 7:39 a.m. Tuesday to say they were in town.
