Manchester, NH - Supporters of various campaigns held signs outside of Manchester Ward 1 at Webster School on Elm Street Tuesday.

In the race to become governor, former Republican U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte will face off against Democratic former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig in the general election in November, according to AP’s projections.

It was clear sailing in Tuesday’s GOP primary for Ayotte who beat former state Senator Chuck Morse with 66 percent of the vote to Morse’s 32 percent.

AP called the Democratic primary for Craig just before 10 p.m. with 48 percent of the vote to Executive Councilor Cinde Warmington’s 42 percent and Jon Kiper’s 10 percent.

Republican Lily Tang Williams of Weare will face Democrat Maggie Goodlander of Nashua for the District 2 Congressional seat. Democratic Congresswoman Annie Kuster decided against running again.

Goodlander won the Democratic primary with 63 percent of the votes to Colin Van Ostern’s 37 percent.

Williams received 36 percent of the primary votes to Vikram Mansharamani’s 27 percent and Bill Hamlen’s 16 percent.

The District 1 Congressional District race on the GOP side was the last to be called just after midnight with AP calling it for Russell Prescott with 26 percent of the vote, and Hollie Noveletsky at 23.7 percent and Joe Kelly Levasseur with 22.9 percent.

Prescott will go up against Democratic Congressman Chris Pappas who won 95 percent of the Democratic vote to Kevin Rondeau’s 5 percent.
