DURHAM, NH – Vice President Kamala Harris’ lead over former President Donald Trump in the presidential race in New Hampshire is unchanged since July.

Nearly half of likely voters in the state expect Harris to win, compared to only a quarter who expected Biden to win before his withdrawal.

Harris is more personally popular than Trump in the state and is rated more highly on several personal attributes, particularly temperament, honesty, and integrity.

The Democratic vice-presidential nominee, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, is generally popular in New Hampshire and most Harris supporters are enthusiastic about his selection. Approval of President Joe Biden’s job performance remains unchanged as more than half of Granite Staters believe he has been below average or one of the worst U.S. presidents.

These findings are based on the latest Granite State Poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. One thousand, seven hundred and eighty-nine (1,789) Granite State Panel members completed the survey online. In addition, 351 New Hampshire residents completed the survey after receiving an invitation via text message to complete the survey online. Overall, 2,140 individuals completed the survey between August 15 and August 19, 2024. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 2.1 percent. Included in the sample were 2,048 likely general election voters (margin of sampling error +/- 2.2 percent).
