DURHAM, NH – President Joe Biden is heading to victory as a write-in candidate in New Hampshire. Aspiring contenders Minnesota Representative Dean Phillips and author Marianne Williamson remain unknown and unpopular in the state. However, Biden fares poorly among self-described socialists and those under thirty-?ve, many of whom say they would be angry if Biden becomes the nominee.

A sign of trouble for November is that less than half of Democratic primary voters think Biden is the party’s best hope to win the general election, although there is no consensus about an alternative candidate.

These findings are based on the latest CNN New Hampshire Primary Poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. Two thousand, three hundred and forty-eight (2,348) Granite State Panel members completed the survey online between January 16 and January 19, 2024. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 2.0 percent. Included in the sample were 775 likely 2024 Democratic Primary voters (margin of sampling error +/- 3.5 percent).
