Former Wolfeboro Police Chief Dean Rondeau

WOLFEBORO – Wolfeboro Police Chief Dean Rondeau is on paid administrative leave pending an internal inquiry, but no reasons have been made public.

Wolfeboro Police Capt. Mark Livie said there is no further information available about the inquiry or what led to it.

For now, Livie is the main contact at the police department.

Rondeau is a 23-year veteran of the Wolfeboro Police Department holding many positions along the way to becoming chief, including patrolman, patrol and investigations sergeant, lieutenant and captain, according to the department’s website.

Rondeau, a retired U.S. Army colonel with 34 years of service, is also a certified Technical Traffic Crash Reconstructionist in the State of New Hampshire, and a Licensed Dive Master; and served on the Wolfeboro Public Safety Search and Recovery Dive Team.

He graduated from Norwich University Military Academy with a BA Degree with concentrations in history and political Science; he also possesses a graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia, according to the website.
