Recent arrests allegedly involving adult males either viewing child pornography or attempting to groom a child, once again bring the issue of crimes against children into sharp focus. It is a continuous challenge for law enforcement people nationwide to meet.
New Hampshire has its own task force. It is the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children task force, NH ICAC and it is headed up by a veteran Portsmouth law enforcement officer. Podcast producer Roger Wood recently spoke to Portsmouth Police Lieutenant Eric Kinsman about the task force and its work
Portsmouth Police Lieutenant Eric Kinsman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Education in Counseling and is a 23-year veteran of law enforcement.
He was previously a supervisor in patrol as a sergeant then lieutenant before moving onto the Professional Standards Division overseeing the Department’s Accreditation process and Internal Affairs and is current commander of the NH Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Roger Wood is an award winning radio, podcast, newspaper and television journalist, with over 40 years of experience in the media. Roger has spent his entire professional career in New Hampshire. Roger currently serves as associate publisher and podcast producer at InDepthNH.org. In 2021 and 2022, he was recognized by the New Hampshire Press Association for his work in news podcasts.
