Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella releases the final report in the investigation into the officer-involved shooting that took place on September 20, 2019, in Nashua, New Hampshire.

In that incident, Nashua Police Officer John Colangelo fired one shot from a rifle at William Case (age at time of incident 59) and Nashua Police Officer Matthew Foss fired one less-than-lethal projectile at Mr. Case.  During the incident, Mr. Case suffered nonfatal injuries, including a gunshot wound.

A preliminary report regarding the incident was issued on January 17, 2020.  The final report was deferred until William Case’s criminal charges related to the matter were resolved.

The Attorney General has concluded that Officers Colangelo and Foss were justified in using deadly force against William Case.  Accordingly, no charges will be filed against either officer.
