AG: Mass. Man, 33, Dies in Officer-Involved Shooting at New Boston Space Force Station

Police investigate officer-involved shooting at New Hampshire Space Force Station in New Boston.

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Nathan Noyes announce additional information concerning the fatal officer-involved shooting that took place in New Boston, New Hampshire.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022, there was a fatal officer-involved shooting incident on an access road to the New Boston Space Force Station located off of 317 Chestnut Hill Road in New Boston, New Hampshire.  An adult male from Massachusetts (age 33) was killed during that shooting incident, which involved a New Boston police officer and a Contracted Security Member.  The deceased’s name is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

An autopsy was performed today by Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg.  Dr. Weinberg determined that the victim’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound, and his manner of death is homicide.  As used by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another.

The exact circumstances surrounding this incident remain actively under investigation.  No further information will be released until after the involved officer and Contracted Security Member’s formal interviews.
