NH Hospital Association statistics on COVID-19 are very different from what the state Department of Health and Human Services sends out every day in news releases.

A press release sent Thursday from the state Department of Health and Human Services said there are 376 new COVID-19 test results and 17 people hospitalized. But the New Hampshire Hospital Association site shows a much higher number for hospitalizations.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Gov. Chris Sununu chided them for reporting inaccurate COVID-19 information, but on Wednesday and Thursday, Sununu spokesman Ben Vihstadt didn’t respond to questions about why DHHS continues to send out the daily press releases if they are inaccurate.

InDepthNH.org will post the link to the New Hampshire Hospital Association data as well as the state’s press release from now on and ask Sununu daily which are accurate.

The New Hampshire Hospital Association said Thursday there were 67 confirmed COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 7 suspected COVID-19 cases and 47 COVID-recovering, which includes hospitalized patients no longer included in confirmed COVID-19 statistics once removed from transmission-based precautions but continue to receive inpatient treatment for COVID-19 related illness.
