Editor’s Note: Attempts to reach Rep. David Cote and Rep. Jason Osborne were unsuccessful Friday evening.
Today, the House Democratic Caucus voted to retain Rep. David Cote, D-Nashua, as the Democratic Leader for the remainder of this term. The Democratic Leader position became vacant after the passing of Democratic Leader Renny Cushing, D-Hampton. earlier this month.
“I am honored and humbled that the Democratic Caucus voted to retain me as their leader for the remainder of this term. It is impossible to fill the shoes of my dear friend Renny Cushing, one of the most caring, brilliant, and genuine people I have ever met. I will work to carry on Renny’s legacy of compassion and equality. House Democrats are united in our fight for a better New Hampshire, and all Granite Staters should know one thing: House Democrats are here to work for them. Solidarity forever.”
House Majority Leader Jason Osborne, R-Auburn, released the following statement after today’s election of a new Democratic Leader.
“I wish the newly elected Leader Cote well as he navigates the remainder of this term,” Osborne said. “I hope to meet him one day.”
