CONCORD – Gov. Chris Sununu issued an emergency order Friday authorizing senior nursing students scheduled to graduate on or before May 31, 2021, to practice under certain conditions to help with the staffing shortages faced statewide.
“Clinical staff workforce shortages remain a challenge across the country,” Sununu said. “With the signing of this Emergency Order, the State of New Hampshire is taking decisive action to ensure that every possible resource is fully utilized to provide our residents with the best possible care.”
The order would include approved registered nursing or practical nursing programs and requires that the individual is employed by or providing healthcare services at the direction of a licensed healthcare facility or a licensed health care provider.
The individual would have to receive temporary license from the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification.
