Judging from the way New Hampshire residents sign on, many of them from the University of New Hampshire, the Peace Corps isn’t just about the money.
Roger Wood spoke with Peace Corps representative Carrie Hessler-Radelet who highlighted the commitment of college students to the worldwide program.
Participation by UNH students has grown over the years, with some 700 alumni serving since 1961. The Peace Corps released a report indicating that, per capita, New Hampshire ranked 8th in the nation in the number of Peace Corps volunteers serving overseas. Maine was sixth, while Vermont was number one.
