CONCORD
– The number of people allowed at a restaurant table is going to be 10 instead of six, according to D.J. Bettencourt, chair of the Governor’s Economic Reopening Task Force.

Bettencourt told task force members Thursday that it will still be limited to six adults. He said Gov. Chris Sununu would be announcing the change based on requests made by the hospitality industry that large families and groups were having to be broken up in tables of six.

Daycare centers have wanted to increase the class size from 10 and Bettencourt said Sununu is going to allow that to be expanded, but the new number has not yet been established. Bettencourt said there should be an expansion to class size.

Ice rink owners have also asked if it would be possible to allow for public skating and that will now be allowed as long as people can maintain six feet of social distancing and if not, wear face coverings, Bettencourt said.

Mobile massage will be allowed as well, he said.

Sununu is also continuing to review other opening up guidance due to COVID-19 where possible, Bettencourt said, and more announcements may be forthcoming.

The task force has been set up to recommend sectors of the economy that can reopen because of the emergency orders issued related to the health emergency.
