Notice from Superior Court Chief Justice Tina L. Nadeau

Cancellation of Criminal and Civil Jury Trials Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

CONCORD – In light of public health concerns arising over the coronavirus, please note, effective immediately, all criminal and civil jury trials scheduled in New Hampshire Superior Courts through May 4, 2020 will be cancelled and rescheduled to later dates. This means there will be no jury trials for the month of May 2020.

·         Jury Duty Service: Please do not appear at the courthouse for jury duty service. All report dates between Friday, March 13, 2020 and Monday, May 4, 2020 are cancelled. It is the intent to begin rescheduling jury trials once we resume to normal operations. Therefore, there will be no jury trials held for approximately 30 days after we resume normal operations. If you have a report date on Monday, June 8, 2020, or after, please check the New Hampshire Judicial Branch website for any updates prior to reporting.

·         Plaintiff, defendant or the State:  If you are a plaintiff, defendant or the State in any trial scheduled for that period, your trial will be rescheduled and you will receive notice of the new trial date.

·         Extension of the timelines in this order will be reviewed on an ongoing basis with notice provided to all parties if extended.

For the well-being of the public and our staff, the Judicial Branch closely monitors the guidance provided by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We continue to work every day to make sure the courts are accessible and safe.
