Concord, NH — On Monday, the Supreme Court announced it will hear a third lawsuit challenging the Affordable Care Act. The case has the potential to wipe out the entire law and take health care away from millions of Americans, including putting New Hampshire’s Medicaid Expansion, a critical tool for fighting the opioid epidemic, at risk. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, New Hampshire is one of only 12 states that has not taken a position on the lawsuit.

Senator Dan Feltes, who is a candidate for governor, released the following statement:

“I am calling on Governor Sununu to join Governors and Attorneys General of both parties who have stepped up and joined the lawsuit to protect the Affordable Care Act against these attacks. We have the highest health care costs in the nation, right here in New Hampshire, that will continue to skyrocket if the ACA is repealed. Among other significant consequences, this puts New Hampshire’s Medicaid Expansion at risk. Governor Sununu has a choice: stand up and fight to protect the health care of thousands of Granite Staters or stand by while it gets ripped away.”
