Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and Granite Pathways have announced two open houses to unveil a new 36-bed treatment facility that will serve people ages 12 to 18 who have a substance use disorder (SUD).
The new facility is on the property of the Sununu Youth Services Center and will be operated by Granite Pathways.
The open houses will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Oct. 23 and 24 at 1056 River Road in Manchester. During the open houses, DHHS and Granite Pathways staff will offer tours of the new SUD treatment facility. The open houses are open to the public. No reservations are required.
“As New Hampshire continues to develop new and innovative responses to the opioid crisis, we must address the youths in our state that have been impacted by the opioid crisis. I am proud that the new facility will greatly expand our ability to serve our youth, especially those who are struggling with substance misuse,” said DHHS Commissioner Jeffrey A. Meyers. “In addition to the federal State Opioid Response funding that will serve new and expectant mothers as well as children and families involved with the child welfare system, the SUD treatment facility in Manchester is the first of its kind in New Hampshire to specifically focus on serving youths with a substance use disorder.”
In 2016, the NH Legislature passed HB517, which allowed DHHS to retrofit a wing at the SYSC to serve as an SUD treatment facility for adolescents in New Hampshire. Granite Pathways was selected through a competitive bidding process to provide addiction recovery services at the new facility. The organization will support the delivery of SUD services by billing Medicaid, commercial insurers and other third parties, ensuring that youths have access to these critical treatment services.
Granite Pathways expects that the facility will begin providing SUD treatment services by the first week of November.
