Concord, NH – Five New Hampshire medical providers were honored today at the Annual Immunization Conference, sponsored by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services’ (DHHS) Immunization Program, for their high standard of excellence in immunizations.
Lisa Morris, Director of the DHHS Division of Public Health Services, and Colleen Haggerty, Immunization Section Chief, honored the recipients of the Excellence in Immunization Award, and presented one individual with the 2nd Annual Tricia McGuire Memorial Award, named after Tricia McGuire, a Medical Assistant at Indian Stream Health Center in Colebrook.
“The Immunization Program is pleased to recognize the work of these healthcare providers, who are some of the over three hundred medical practices that offer vaccines to their patients in New Hampshire. They are to be commended for their commitment to creating healthy communities,” said Colleen Haggerty. “It takes school nurses, parents, pharmacists, health care providers and many others to ensure the continued low rate of vaccine preventable diseases.”

2nd Annual Tricia McGuire Memorial Award – Ashley Clauss, RN, Practice Vaccine Coordinator, Weeks Medical Center, Whitefield
Excellence in Vaccine Management – Carol Scoggins, Clinical Coordinator/Vaccine Manager, CORE Family and Internal Medicine, Exeter
Excellence in Adolescent Immunizations – Dr. Robert C. Kelly, Epsom Family Medicine
Excellence in Childhood Immunizations – Nona Murphy, Certified Medical Assistant, New London Pediatrics
Excellence in Adult Immunization Initiatives – Chelsea Cahill, Vaccine Manager, Health Services, NH State Prison for Women, NH Department of Corrections
Excellence in Vaccine Management – Anne Lucey, RN, Primary Immunization Coordinator, Child Health Services, Manchester Community Health Center
Elizabeth Talbot, MD, Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases and International Health, Dartmouth College, and Deputy State Epidemiologist, NH Department of Health and Human Services, was the Keynote Speaker. Dr. Talbot spoke about the development of new vaccines and the fight against emerging infectious diseases.
