SALEM – The teenager found dead outside a home on Orchard Terrace in Salem early Friday morning died of a single gunshot wound to his chest and his death has been ruled a homicide, according to a news release from Attorney General John Formella.
The victim was identified as Wichai Saksene, 15, of Massachusetts.
“The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted the autopsy today and determined the minor’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound (to his) chest, and his manner of death was homicide,” the release said.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are now under active investigation, and there is no known threat to the public at this time as all known parties have been identified, Formella said.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of the investigation, the release said.
Officers responded to a 911 call pre-dawn Friday morning directing them to a home on Orchard Terrace where they discovered the boy’s body just outside the home. T
