To say that our teachers have risen above impossible and unpredictable challenges would be an understatement.
Rep. Charlotte DiLorenzo, D- Newmarket, was the primary sponsor of one of the bills, HB1090, a bill that would have repealed the “divisive concepts” law passed as a trailer to the budget last June. The law is also referred to as HB2 as it was included in that bill.
The Senate voted on a number of bills related to Education Freedom Accounts, Redistricting, bail reform and others at a busy session on Wednesday.
One might expect that a bill to eliminate a new state voucher program that just launched in the fall would meet with opposition, but a separate bill, seeking to ensure that the Education Freedom Accounts go only to families in need of financial help also met with strong opposition during a hearing before the Senate Education Committee on Tuesday.
