Judge Peter Bornstein denied an injunction to keep the citizens of Dalton from voting on abolishing the Planning Board and Conservation Commission during the upcoming town meeting at a hearing Wednesday in Coos County Superior Court.

After hearing from a few residents on Nov. 15, selectmen decided to schedule a special forum to gather more public comment on the proposed trucking route through Bethlehem that would serve a new landfill in neighboring Dalton.
The N.H. Department of Environmental Services has issued a letter of deficiency against North Country Environmental Services, Inc., the Casella-owned company that operates the landfill in Bethlehem where leachate overflowed its containment units last May.
